This page calculates the Panchang for Amritsar, Punjab from the city's own coordinates and local sunrise, so the Tithi, Vara and timings reflect Amritsar rather than a single national table.
Why Panchang for Amritsar is a local calculation
Amritsar sits in Punjab at about 31.6223° N, 74.8753° E. Because the Panchang day opens at sunrise, Amritsar's own sunrise sets its Vara and decides which Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana are in force through the day.
That is why a reading for Amritsar can differ from another city on the same date. Astrovarg works this page out from Amritsar's coordinates on the Asia/Kolkata timezone — a local result, not a generic one. For how the five limbs are read, see the complete Panchang guide.
Why does Panchang for Amritsar differ from other cities?
It is anchored to Amritsar's local sunrise. Sunrise reaches Amritsar at its own clock time, so a Tithi or Nakshatra can move onto a different day than in a city further east or west.
Is this Panchang based on local sunrise in Amritsar?
Yes. The page uses Amritsar's coordinates (31.6223° N, 74.8753° E) and the Asia/Kolkata timezone, and the reading is anchored to the city's own sunrise.
Can I check another date for Amritsar?
Yes. Change the date in the calculator above and Astrovarg recomputes the Panchang for Amritsar on that day.
Where can I learn how to read Panchang?
