This page calculates the Panchangam for Madurai, Tamil Nadu from the city's own coordinates and local sunrise, so the Tithi, Vara and timings reflect Madurai rather than a single national table. In Tamil usage, Panchang is commonly searched as Panchangam, with related daily timing searches such as Nalla Neram and Rahu Kalam.
Why Panchangam for Madurai is a local calculation
Madurai sits in Tamil Nadu at about 9.9190° N, 78.1195° E. Because the Panchangam day opens at sunrise, Madurai's own sunrise sets its Vara and decides which Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana are in force through the day.
That is why a reading for Madurai can differ from another city on the same date. Astrovarg works this page out from Madurai's coordinates on the Asia/Kolkata timezone — a local result, not a generic one. For how the five limbs are read, see the complete Panchang guide.
Why does Panchangam for Madurai differ from other cities?
It is anchored to Madurai's local sunrise. Sunrise reaches Madurai at its own clock time, so a Tithi or Nakshatra can move onto a different day than in a city further east or west.
Is this Panchangam based on local sunrise in Madurai?
Yes. The page uses Madurai's coordinates (9.9190° N, 78.1195° E) and the Asia/Kolkata timezone, and the reading is anchored to the city's own sunrise.
Can I check another date for Madurai?
Yes. Change the date in the calculator above and Astrovarg recomputes the Panchangam for Madurai on that day.
